ITINERARY

Day 1
London - Tokyo
Depart from London Heathrow on non-stop overnight flight to Tokyo. flight
Day 2
Tokyo
Arrive at Tokyo Narita Airport. Meeting staff at customs exit to provide assistance in boarding airport bus to the hotel in Tokyo. Hotel, Tokyo
Day 3
Tokyo
Full day tour in Tokyo, including Tokyo Tower, Tea Ceremony at Happo-en Garden, barbeue-style lunch, Imperial Palace Plaza, a cruise on the Sumida River to Asakusa, Asakusa Kannon Temple & Nakamise Shopping Arcade, and drive through Ginza, ending at hotel around 18:00. Hotel, Tokyo
Day 4
Tokyo - Mt.Fuji - Hakone - Tokyo
Full day sightseeing tour of Mt.Fuji & Hakone National Park, including Fuji Visitor Center, the 5th station of Mt.Fuji, a Japanese-style lunch, cruise on Lake Ashi and Mt.Komagatake Aerial Cableway. Take the Bullet train from Odawara station back to Tokyo, arriving 18:30-20:00. Tour disbands at Tokyo station. The tour guide will advise how to return to your hotel. Hotel, Tokyo

Tokyo
Full day free at leisure in Tokyo.
A variety of optional tours is available.

Day 6
Tokyo - Nikko - Tokyo
Full day excursion to Nikko by coach.
In the morning, visit Nikko Toshogu Shrine and Irohazaka zigzag driveway up to the mountains After Japanese-style lunch at local restaurant, visit Lake Chuzenji and Kegonnotaki Waterfall. Irohazaka zigzag driveway down the mountains and drive back to Tokyo. Tour disbands on arrival at Ginza or Shinjuku at approx. 19:30.

Day 7
Tokyo - Suwa - Matsumoto
Depart Tokyo by express train. Visit Suwa Shrine, and drive by Suwa Lake on the way to Matsumoto. Visit Matsumoto Castle (the former Kaichi School). Arrive at hotel around 18:00. Hotel Tokyu Inn, Matsumoto
Day 8
Matsumoto - Tsumago - Magome - Nagiso
Depart in the morning, visiting Fukushima check-point and Museum, Nezame-no-Toko, Nagiso-Machi Museum in Tsumago. Arrive at hotel around 18:00. Hotel Kiso-ji, Nagiso
Day 9
Nagiso - Shirakawago - Takayama
Depart in the morning, visiting Gujo-hachiman, drive by Lake Miboro to the Gassho-Zukuri Folklore Park at Shirakawago, where the traditional "praying hands" thatched farmhouses are preserved. Green Hotel, Takayama
Day 10
Takayama - Kyoto
Visit Takayama's morning market, the Yatai Kaikan Hall, Kusakabe Folkcraft Museum and Kani Sannomachi Street. Then depart from Takayama by express train to Kyoto, arriving in the evening. Hotel, Kyoto
Day 11
Kyoto
Full day sightseeing of Kyoto and Nara. In the morning, visit Nijo Castle, Kinkakuji Temple (Golden Pavilion), and Kyoto Imperial Palace (on Sat., Sun & national holidays: visit Ryoanji Temple or Daitakuji Daisenin Temple instead). After buffet-style lunch, proceed to Nara to visit Todaiji Temple, Nara Park and Kasuga Shrine. Return to the hotel around 19:00. Hotel, Kyoto
Day 12
Kyoto - Tokyo
Free at leisure until departure. Return to Tokyo by Bullet Train in the evening, arriving between 20:00-21:00. Hotel, Tokyo
Day 13
Tokyo - London
Transfer to Tokyo Narita Airport by airport bus. Depart Narita on non-stop flight to London Heathrow, arriving at the same day.

  • Luggage transfer - your luggage will be transported by land from Tokyo to Kyoto on Day 7 and Kyoto to Tokyo on Day 12 with allowance of one piece per person. For the overnight stay in Matsumoto, Nagiso and Takayama, we recommend you travel with just a light overnight bag.
