Tokyo Narita Airport (NRT)

On the Shin-Kuko Expressway, 40 miles (65km) east of Tokyo.
There are two terminals. Terminal One is in a V-shape, with a North Wing (check-in counters for "Skyteam" airlines such as British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, Air France, Alitalia) and a South Wing (check-in counters for "Star Alliance" carriers such as All Nippon Airways, Lufthansa, SAS). Terminal Two has check-in for Japan Airlines and other "Oneworld" carriers such as Cathay Pacific. It also has a satellite building, connected to the main building by a cable-driven shuttle vehicle. Disabled facilities: Wheelchairs can be hired from the information counters (landside only); passengers should inform JTB of any special assistance required prior to travel. There is a braille guide to the airport, which is available at the information desk or can be ordered in advance (tel; (0)476 345 058). The airport railway station and inter-terminal shuttle buses are wheelchair-accessible.
Baggage delivery: A variety of delivery companies with offices at Narita offer a baggage transfer service. You can get your suitcase delivered in advance from your hotel in Japan to Narita Terminal One, 4th floor (departures) or 1st floor (arrivals). Baggage can also be delivered from the airport to your accommodation on arrival. For full details, see the airport website.
Facilities: both terminals have banks, ATMs, bureaux de change and a post office.

Tokyo Haneda (HND)

In the Ota district of Tokyo, to the south of the city next to Tokyo Bay. Tokyo's main airport for domestic flights.
There are two main terminals. Terminal One (called "Big Bird") handles the JAL Group of domestic airlines, and Terminal Two handles the ANA (All Nippon Airways) Group. There is also a small international terminal, handling charter flights mainly to Seoul, Korea. The terminals are connected by an underground corridor (400m) with a moving walkway.
Rail connections: a monorail offers transportation into Tokyo. Each terminal has its own monorail station. The monorail goes to Hamamatsucho Station (¥470), for connections to the Yamanote Line on the Tokyo underground to reach other points in Tokyo. Express trains make the nonstop run from Haneda Airport to Hamamatsucho in 16 minutes.
A bus service offers a transfer to Tokyo Narita airport in around 1hr 15mins, depending on traffic (cost ¥3,000).
The airport is well provided with information desks. There are banks and post offices in each terminal. (Terminal 1 has a Citibank ATM)

Chubu Centrair International Airport (NGO)

On an artificial island in Ise Bay, Tokoname City in Aichi Prefecture, south of Nagoya in central Japan. The terminal is in a "T" shape, with ticketing and check-in at the centre.
Centrair features the 4th Floor Sky Town shopping center, with over 60 shops and restaurants organized into two streets.
Transportation: the airport is served by the Meitetsu Tokoname Line (train company: Meitetsu. The fastest "Rapid Limited Express" service connects the airport to Meitetsu Nagoya Station in 28 minutes. This station is adjacent to the JR (Japan Railway) Nagoya Station, where passengers can take the Shinkansen(Bullet train) services to Kyoto and Shizuoka, and the Nagoya Subway. In addition, there are bus services into Nagoya and several other cities in Central Japan (central Nagoya 60 min., ¥1,000).

Kansai International Airport, Osaka (KIX)

On an artifical island in Osaka Bay. Access is via a dedicated access bridge (the "Skygate Bridge") with a toll gate on entry.
KIX has a single four-story terminal, designed by Renzo Piano and Noriaki Okabe. It is the longest airport terminal in the world: 1.7 km. An advanced people mover system called "Wing Shuttle" moves passengers from one end to the other.
For International departures, check in on the 4th floor and board on 3rd floor. Arrivals go to immigration and baggage claim on the 1st floor.

Transportation: JR-West operates the Haruka, express train services to Kansai Airport Station from Tennoji, Shin-Osaka and Kyoto Station. The "Airport Rapid" train services to the airport from Osaka and Kyobashi Station are also operated by JR-West. There is also an airport limousine bus service from/to Osaka Station: 60 min., cost ¥1,300.

New Chitose Airport (CTS)

The airport for Sapporo, on Hokkaido, north Japan.
The airport has a clinic/chemist, a Foreign Exchange counter, a branch of Hokuyo bank, cash machines and a Post Office.
Transportation: Japan Railways (JR) operates Airport Express trains to and from Sapporo Station, taking around 36 minutes and costing ¥1,040. In addition, there are various bus services to skiing areas of Hokkaido.

Fukuoka Airport (FUK)

The airport for Fukuoka, on Kyushu, south Japan.
There are three domestic terminals, and an international terminal. There are banks in both buildings, a Post Office in the domestic terminal building and a Citibank cash machine in the International terminal.
Transportation: the airport is very close to the city: a subway train takes only 10 mins.
Disabled facilities: The airport has disabled toilets on all floors, and lifts between floors. The airport's website has dedicated accessible pages listing all disabled facilities. Passengers should inform JTB of any special assistance required prior to travel.

Okinawa Airport (OKA)

The airport for Japan's southern Okinawa islands. Close to Okinawa's main city of Naha, and also known as Naha Airport.
Flights are mainly domestic, from Tokyo Haneda airport and other cities. Naha is also a hub for service to other locations in Okinawa, including Ishigaki Airport for the Yaeyama Islands, the southernmost islands of Japan.
Transportation: the Okinawa Monorail goes from Naha Airport Station to the center of Naha. In addition, bus services are available to many parts of Okinawa Island.
